The GDPR continue to affect the way that litigation is run.

From 1 July 2018, the Court of Justice will replace the name of natural persons involved in requests for a preliminary ruling with initials in all its public documents.  It will also remove any other element which is likely to identify the persons concerned.

The move sees the Court recognise the need to meet the requirements of the new GDPR and to ensure appropriate protection of personal data whilst also allowing citizens are informed and have the right to open courts.
