I was surprised to read this article about organic food and the public sector. "More than 90% of public procurement of food in Copenhagen is now organic". Unfortunately we are a long way behind that percentage.
It will be interesting to see what happens to the UK organic food sector going forward. Hopefully we will get to the point where we no longer lag behind our counterparts in Europe and parts of the rest of the world.
Delegates of the UK Organic Congress were told that British consumers are “increasingly moving towards organic food”. However, the sector remains behind counterparts in Europe and across the world, having been through a difficult period since the recession.
