B2B models like this are a great way of managing demand risk in EV charging projects
Engie is to install electric vehicle (EV) chargers for waste management company Biffa to support its electrification efforts. The chargers are to go in at Biffa’s sites across the UK, with an initial 14 Alfen EV chargers to go in. These will be a combination of 22kW twin socket load balanced units and some single and dual 7kW units. They will be integrated into Engie’s GeniePoint platform, which it acquired in 2019 as part of its ChargePoint Services acquisition. This will also give Biffa drivers access to the entire GeniePoint network. Biffa operates a fleet of over 600 Nissan NV200 vans and plans to encourage all company car drivers to switch to EVs. The installation of the chargers will support this electrification.
